GOOSE CREEK — A former police officer who kept on his phone pornographic photos of an underage student he was supposed to protect has pleaded guilty to misconduct in office. Conrad Sands Stayton, of Summerville, was fired from the Goose Creek Police Department in March 2022 after it investigated a complaint that he displayed inappropriate behavior with a student at Stratford High School, where Stayton worked as a school resource officer. The State Law Enforcement Division subsequently arrested the 41-year-old man on allegations he maintained pornographic images on his phone of the 17-year-old student and failed to take "any documented action to intervene," according to affidavits.
