From the steps of the State House in Columbia to the Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant, runners are preparing for a three-day, 125-mile trek that seeks to honor fallen service members every step of the way. Volunteers, sponsors and participants are still needed for the South Carolina Run for the Fallen, which is slated for Oct. 20-22. Run for the Fallen is sponsored by South Carolina Honor and Remember, an organization that donates flags to family members of fallen soldiers. SC Honor and Remember Director Sheryl Frost said the Run for the Fallen route began in Mount Pleasant and ended in Columbia in previous years, but she felt that Patriots Point was the perfect place to conclude the honorary run.
